YIELD performance within the installation of Jen Matthews Yard (2026) , responded to Tanya Voges’ improvisational scores exploring to the concept of yield strength- the bending point of metal - weaving elements of contact improvisation and partnering dance to share weight to generate new movement pathways. The musical response by Margie Jean Lewis was made by reading the dance, as if the choreography of the bodies were conducting the pitch, volume, and repetition of notes.
