Cinematic Experiments was a workshop that was conducted by Margie Medlin with a group of diverse artists who work in various ways with experimental cinema techniques. Through collaborative exploration in The Mill’s spaces with access to equipment and support from Mercury CX the seed of new works commenced.

My experiment resulted in large scale moving portraits where the seated subject dances through choreographic editing. This extended into staging and documenting the work installed in a gallery setting on sculptural paper surfaces with which I used in a responsive dance.

This future project is to generate dancing portraits of community members, and have the support of a mentor- multidisciplinary artist Susan Sentler who is an American Choreographer and Curator based in Europe that works on staging dance and collaborating with artists to active their exhibitions in gallery settings.
