Understory

Understory: Postcards from Lobethal Bushland Park was a collaboration with artist Louise Flaherty and musician Belinda Gehlert with dancer Tanya Voges. The artists were engaged by the Adelaide Hills Council Arts Centre- Fabrik- to respond to the much loved Bushland Park post bushfire. The community engagement was embedded into the process with workshops in art, music and movement specifically for Lobethal locals. The resulting promenade performance was part bushwalk, postcard reading, site specific performance with participatory drawing- a sublime immersion where everyone was able to respectfully remember the Bushland Park’s history and observe it’s new growth through a curated viewing.

Fabrik staff Melinda Rankin and Rene Strohmayer were integral to this project and were able to engage the artists through Arts SA and support by Adelaide Hills Council.
